BASSLINE
Sheffield-centred club sound of the early 2000s, built on speed garage and R&B: a four-to-the-floor beat, heavy bass lines and chopped, sped-up vocal samples at about 135 to 142 BPM.[1] Sheffield's Niche nightclub was central to it until a 2005 police raid closed it.[1] T2's "Heartbroken" reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart in 2007.[2]
