EMERGED 1974 · WHAT IT GREW OUT OF KRAUTROCK · 3 TRACKS TO START WITH, 2 SOURCES

Tangerine Dream, active in West Berlin from the late 1960s, moved from tape collage on Electronic Meditation (1970, Ohr) to sequencers on Phaedra (1974), a UK No. 15 album for Virgin. Klaus Schulze drummed on that first album and began a solo career in 1972 with Irrlicht. His Timewind and Moondawn, mid-1970s, are where his style is said to become Berlin School.
