In the sources read, experimental dub is a description, not a dated style. The clearest case is Adrian Sherwood's On-U Sound label in London, founded around 1979 and known for its own take on dub. Dub Syndicate's first phase, 1982 to 1985, was a studio project driven by Sherwood, and Tunes from the Missing Channel (1985) pushed it toward a more technological sound.
