FUTURE GARAGE

Mid-2000s UK offshoot of UK garage and softer 2-step, around 130 to 140 BPM, with pitched vocal chops, warm filtered reese bass, dark pads and vinyl crackle.[1] Whistla coined the name before the Future Garage Forum opened in November 2009.[1] Burial's "Archangel" (Hyperdub, 2007) came from Untrue, an album described as a tribute to UK garage.[2]
