Wikipedia's psytrance article names "minimal (Zenonesque)" as one of the varieties inside the genre, and lists Zenonesque as a subgenre. A psytrance blogger calls the minimal and tech side of the scene under-represented in his own listings. No page read dates the term or names its first records, so no year is given.
