EMERGED 1997 · WHAT IT GREW OUT OF GOA TRANCE, TRANCE, PSYCHEDELIC ROCK, ACID HOUSE, NEW BEAT · 2 TRACKS TO START WITH, 4 SOURCES

Psytrance is the family of fast, pounding trance styles that grew out of the Goa scene, mostly between 125 and 150 BPM. A track usually stacks new layers every four to eight bars toward a peak, then drops into a breakdown, over six to ten minutes. Full-on, dark, progressive and forest are among its branches.
