vocal house

Vocal house centers on soulful, often deep female vocals from jazz-influenced divas, set over piano melodies, disco basslines and jazz samples for an uplifting feel.[1] It emerged in the United States in the late 1980s and early 1990s as an offshoot of house, later absorbing Italian and Balearic influences.[1]
