Named for Ibiza, where DJ Alfredo built Amnesia sets that put house beside Mediterranean pop, bossa nova and Europop. Paul Oakenfold, Trevor Fung and Ian St. Paul brought the idea to London in 1987, and Oakenfold's Spectrum night in 1988 reached a wider crowd. DJs such as Nancy Noise, who spent two summers in Ibiza clubs, took the anything-goes attitude into London nights like The Future.
