detroit house

Detroit grew a soulful, largely instrumental house sound alongside its techno.[1] Alton Miller and Chez Damier were early deep house residents at the Music Institute, and techno producers such as Carl Craig, Kelli Hand and Stacey Pullen also made house.[1] Theo Parrish, Moodymann and Rick Wilhite later carried the soul-focused approach forward.[1]
