Progressive house is a British style of the early 1990s that took house toward longer, more tuneful, trance-leaning records. Mixmag described it in 1992 as 'hard but tuneful, banging but thoughtful, uplifting and trancey British house'. Leftfield's 'Not Forgotten' (October 1990) is credited by some as the first such record. Guerilla, Bedrock, Deconstruction, Hooj Choons and Soma were among the labels.
