Psytrance Guide lists progressive psy at 130 to 140 BPM and says it works on groove and development over time rather than one signature sound. It dates the style to the mid-2000s in Europe, while Ishkur says the early 2000s. Ektoplazm calls it deep, funky and slow to build, usually 130 to 142 BPM. Wikipedia lists it as a psytrance subgenre and captions Square Punch's "Thundercat" (2011) as an example.
