PURPLE SOUND
Bristol offshoot of dubstep from late 2008, named by the producers Joker, Gemmy and Guido for their own music, which mixed wonky, 1980s synth-funk and 1990s G-funk with grime and 8-bit video-game sounds.[1] Punch Drunk, Tom Ford's Bristol label, was its main outlet, and Joker's "Purple City" with Ginz (Kapsize, 2009) is among its best-known records.[2][3][4]
