BROSTEP
Harder dubstep that works the midrange rather than the sub-bass, its distorted bass riffs likened by Simon Reynolds to a heavy-metal guitar.[1] Rusko, whose "Cockney Thug" came out on Sub Soldiers in 2009, and Skrillex are named as its pioneers.[1][2] Spotify's genre system groups Skrillex, Excision, Zeds Dead, Flux Pavilion and Knife Party under it.[3]
