On the techno line between hardcore techno and minimal techno. Grew out of acid house (house line), hardcore and jungle (drum and bass line).

The free-party sound of France and Europe: 150 to 185 BPM kicks, acid lines and film samples, played on sound systems at teknivals. Its spelling marks it off from club techno.
