TRIBAL HOUSE
Tribal house layers house's four-on-the-floor pulse with world-music rhythms, especially conga-style percussion, often leaning on drum patterns instead of a main melody and sometimes adding chanting.[1] It emerged in the late 1980s in the United States and became prominent in New York, centered on clubs such as Sound Factory and Roxy.[1] Tribal America was the most influential label, and Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia and Deep Dish are leading names.[1]
