AMBIENT HOUSE

Ambient house appeared in the UK in the late 1980s, laying house and acid house pulses under ambient and new age textures.[1] An Orb single from 1989 reached No. 78 in the UK, and The KLF's Chill Out followed in February 1990.[1] The Orb's 40-minute "Blue Room" went to No. 8 in 1992.[1]
