UK HARDCORE
UK hardcore is what happy hardcore became in the early 2000s, when producers set mainstream trance leads over a kick at 150 BPM and up and dropped the happy name.[1][2] Hixxy led the turn on Raver Baby, and in March 2004 John Peel played a Hixxy mix of Raver Baby records on BBC Radio 1.[1][2][3] Breeze & Styles reached the top 20 that year, and Hixxy and Darren Styles made the Clubland X-Treme Hardcore series.[4][2] Freeform, a faster, more layered offshoot from the late 1990s, was named by Sharkey and built with Kevin Energy and Nu Energy.[5][6]
