BASS MUSIC
Umbrella term for genres built around a prominent bassline or bass drum, which Wikipedia stretches from dubstep and UK garage to future bass, Miami bass and trap.[1] In the UK the label stuck to the post-dubstep scene of the late 2000s: Mount Kimbie, James Blake and Joy Orbison, on labels such as Hotflush and Hyperdub.[2] In 2011 Skream argued that "UK bass" described that sound better than "dubstep".[3]
