DANCE-POP
Dance-pop is pop made for both the club and the radio: uptempo, strong beats, plain song structures and catchy hooks.[1] It is usually producer-led, with writers and producers making the record and then hiring a singer.[1] In the 1980s Stock Aitken Waterman made a hi-NRG-flavoured version for Kylie Minogue, Dead or Alive and Bananarama, and in the 1990s house crept in through hits such as Madonna's "Vogue".[1] Indeep's "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life" (1982) is named as one of the first dance-pop songs.[2]
