POST-DISCO
Post-disco is the dance music made after the 1979 backlash against disco, when drum machines, synths and sequencers replaced string and horn arrangements.[1] It leans on funk basslines, dub-style remixes and soulful female vocals, and was sold mostly as 12-inch singles.[1] D Train's "You're the One For Me" (1981), broken by Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage and reworked by Francois Kevorkian, is called a post-disco anthem and a proto-house record.[2]
