DISCO POLO
Polish dance music that grew out of wedding bands who swapped folk instruments for keyboards and drum samples, with simple chords, 4/4 time and sentimental lyrics.[1] Bayer Full (1984) and Top One (1986) are the pioneers, Blue Star put out the first records in 1990, and the parody "Mydełko Fa" (1991) helped spread it.[1][2] Label owner Sławomir Skręta coined "disco polo" in 1993 from "Italo disco", replacing "sidewalk music".[1][2] Polsat's Disco Relax began in December 1994.[1]
