FRENCHCORE
Frenchcore is fast hardcore, usually above 160 to 185 BPM, built on a loud kick and a distorted off-beat bass, and rooted in the French rave and free party scenes.[1] DJ Radium co-founded Micropoint in 1992; their first record came out in 1995, and he says their 1999 album opened the way for French hardcore.[2] In the 2010s the Dutch took it up: Dr. Peacock, who found it on records by The Speed Freak, The Sickest Squad, Psiko and Radium, made it melodic and festival-sized with Peacock Records and his protege Sefa.[3][4]
