HARDSTYLE
Hardstyle runs at about 150 BPM, between house and hardcore, on a hard, distorted kick that in its early years came with an off-beat reverse bass.[1][2] Dutch producers made the first tracks around 1999 for dancers who liked hard sounds but not hardcore's speed, as gabber DJs slowed to about 150 BPM; Italy was the other early centre.[1][3][2] Q-dance's Qlubtempo nights and then Qlimax and Defqon.1 built it into the Netherlands' biggest hard dance scene.[1][2]
