HARD NRG
Hard NRG, also called nu-NRG, is a faster and darker relative of UK hard house, running at about 155 to 165 bpm against roughly 150 to 155.[1] It grew out of hi-NRG, UK hard house and Belgian techno, with German hard trance as a further influence.[1] The name nu-NRG appeared around 1996 and 1997.[1] Gritty Hoover-type synth lines, associated with the Roland Alpha Juno 2, are a signature.[1]
