HARDCORE BREAKS
Breakbeat hardcore from the UK rave scene mixes four-on-the-floor rhythm with breaks, often sampled from hip hop, plus hoover sounds, piano riffs and bleep techno touches.[1] It rose around 1990 through clubs and mega-raves such as Fantazia and Dreamscape, with DJs including Fabio, Grooverider, Carl Cox and Slipmatt.[1] By late 1992 it was splitting into darkcore, hardcore jungle and happy hardcore, and a 2000s revival as hardcore breaks ran at about 145 to 155 BPM.[1]
