JUMP-UP
Jump-up is drum and bass made for the dancefloor around big, bouncing bass riffs and hip-hop samples.[1] 12edit sees its start in Dead Dred's Dred Bass on Moving Shadow (1994), and Wikipedia has it splitting from hardstep in 1995.[1][2] DJ Zinc's Super Sharp Shooter, written in 1995 around an LL Cool J sample, became its anthem, and DJ Hype and Aphrodite carried the sound on.[1]
