NEUE DEUTSCHE TODESKUNST
German-language dark wave played on guitar, bass, synthesizer and drums, with lyrics drawing on poets and philosophers such as Gryphius, Goethe and Nietzsche.[1] The name first appeared in 1991 in MagazinOphon, the magazine of the Danse Macabre label, and Zillo used it for Relatives Menschsein, Das Ich and Goethes Erben.[1] The taz names nihilistic texts, an exaggerated longing for death and German lyrics as its marks, and counts the early Lacrimosa among its bands.[2]
