piano house
On the house line between mega funk and soulful house.
PIANO HOUSE
Piano house is built around a rhythmic piano riff of a few chords, played as short stabbing chords in the middle of the keyboard.[1] Its roots run through gospel, soul and disco, and Marshall Jefferson's "Move Your Body" and Rhythim Is Rhythim's "Strings of Life" (1987) were early landmarks.[1] In the early 1990s Italian acts such as FPI Project and A.S.H.A. made many anthems and the UK rave scene took up piano breaks, before the sound went mainstream by the mid 1990s.[1]
