SPEEDCORE
Speedcore is hardcore pushed past about 250 BPM, often far beyond, with square-wave kicks, snare and tom fills and distorted melodies.[1] Moby's Thousand (1992) and Sorcerer's Summer (1993) were early high-speed experiments, and by 1995 Datacide was calling Test Tube Kid's records speedcore.[2][1][3] In the late 1990s German netlabels pushed tempos beyond 400 BPM, and offshoots such as splittercore, extratone and atmospheric speedcore followed.[4][1]
