TECH HOUSE
Tech house keeps house's structure but borrows techno's short, dark, often distorted kicks, quick hats, harsh snares and acid-style synth lines, in a more restrained mood than progressive house.[2] It began in the UK in the early 1990s as a DJ approach more than a record style, with Eddie Richards and Mr C at London parties such as Wiggle and The Drop, and Mood II Swing's "During Peak Hours" (1992) among early records.[3] Get Physical, Dirtybird and Hot Creations helped spread it,[3] and Fisher's "Losing It" (2018) is cited as a mainstream breakthrough.[2]
