YORKSHIRE BLEEPS AND BASS
Bleep techno is techno from Yorkshire built on small synth bleeps over heavy sub-bass taken from dub and reggae sound systems.[1] It sold from 1989 to 1991, and Sheffield's Warp was its best-known label.[1] Unique 3's 'The Theme' (1988) is often called the first record, and Forgemasters' 'Track With No Name' was Warp's first single in 1989.[1][2] Resident Advisor called it a 'distinctly British mutation of techno'.[2]
