ACID BREAKS
Acid breaks lays the squelching Roland TB-303 over a breakbeat instead of a four-on-the-floor house kick.[1] Josh Wink's Higher State of Consciousness, released on Strictly Rhythm in March 1995, is the best-known example, built on acid lines, a TR-909 drum machine and a distortion pedal.[3] Wink has cited breakbeats, drum and bass, jungle and acid house as ingredients, and it reached No. 8 on the UK singles chart.[4][3]
