FRENCH HOUSE
French house emerged in France in the early to mid 1990s, drawing on American house, Euro disco and space disco.[2] Its signature is filter and phaser effects on looped samples of late-1970s and early-1980s disco, usually in 4/4 at about 110 to 130 BPM.[2] Daft Punk, Stardust, Cassius, Modjo and Bob Sinclar are central names, and Motorbass's 1996 album Pansoul is cited as a landmark.[2] Thomas Bangalter's Roulé label issued some of the earliest examples.[2]
