MICROHOUSE
Microhouse is a minimal, glitchy strain of house at about 115 to 130 BPM, where clicks, static and tiny snippets of voices and instruments stand in for the usual drums and melodies.[2] It took shape in Europe in the late 1990s from minimal techno, house and bitpop, and the name comes from Philip Sherburne's 2001 article in The Wire.[2] Luomo's Vocalcity is often credited with popularizing it, alongside Jan Jelinek and Akufen, on labels such as Perlon, Kompakt and Force Tracks.[2]
