JUNGLE
Jungle grew out of London's breakbeat hardcore in the early 1990s, speeding up chopped breakbeats and pairing them with reggae sub-bass and sound-system culture.[1][2] Rebel MC's Black Meaning Good (1991) mixed old-school hip-hop beats with roots reggae, and Lennie De Ice's We Are I.E. (1991) is counted among the first jungle records.[1][3] By 1994 the sound had fully formed and, Rebel MC told the Guardian, brought people of all backgrounds together in London.[1]
