NOISE POP
Pop songs played through heavy distortion and feedback, with mid-1980s British roots.[1] The Jesus and Mary Chain's Psychocandy (Blanco y Negro, 1985) is called its earliest archetype, and My Bloody Valentine's early records led toward shoegaze.[1][2] A late-2000s wave included Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.[1][3]
