On the house line between house and garage house. Grew out of hi-nrg, italo disco (disco line), post-disco and electro.

CHICAGO HOUSE
Chicago house is the original form of house, made in Chicago through the 1980s with drum machines such as the TR-808 and TR-909, synths and sampling, and only sparse vocals.[1] Its roots include disco, Italo disco, electro and European EBM and post-punk, and the Hot Mix 5 shows on WBMX-FM, from 1981, helped popularize it locally.[1] DJ International and Trax were the main labels, and landmark records include On & On (1984), Mystery of Love (1985) and Acid Tracks (1987).[1]
