PROGRESSIVE HOUSE
Progressive house emerged in the UK around 1990 to 1992 out of rave and club scenes, partly as a label to set British-made house apart from American house and Chicago acid.[2] It keeps a four-on-the-floor beat and builds tension by adding and removing layers over long builds and breakdowns, with dub, deep house and Italo house influences.[2] Leftfield's "Not Forgotten" (1990) is sometimes named the first example, and labels such as Guerilla, Hooj Choons, Deconstruction and Bedrock helped build the scene.[2]
